At Besom Tor Apothecary, I believe wisdom is meant to be shared. Herbal knowledge has always been passed down from one pair of hands to another, and it feels important to continue that tradition. That’s why I love sharing my recipes — so you can create yo

ur own organic remedies and discover the healing power of herbs for yourself. Sharing knowledge is at the heart of the Besom Tor ethos: empowering others to take their wellness journey into their own hands.
Here is the recipe I use for our Calm & Balance tea:
A soothing herbal infusion to help reduce cortisol, calm anxiety, and restore inner balance.
Ingredients & Benefits (with measurements):
2 tbsp Tulsi (Holy Basil)
Adaptogen that regulates cortisol levels, enhances mental clarity, and supports the body’s stress response.
1 tbsp Lemon Balm
A calming nervine that gently eases anxiety, tension, and stress-related digestive discomfort.
1 tbsp Chamomile
Relaxing and anti-inflammatory. Helps with anxiety, muscle tension, and promotes better sleep.
1 tbsp Nettle Leaf
Rich in minerals (like magnesium and calcium), helps replenish the nervous system and combat stress-related fatigue.
1/2 tbsp Rose Petals
Heart-opening and gently uplifting. Eases emotional overwhelm and promotes a sense of calm.
1/2 tsp Lavender (optional)
Aromatic and deeply calming to the nervous system. Supports restful sleep and eases anxious thoughts.
Brewing Instructions:
Use 1–2 teaspoons of the dry blend per cup of freshly boiled water.
Steep covered for 10–15 minutes, then strain.
Drink 1–3 cups daily during periods of high stress, anxiety, or emotional strain.
Best enjoyed warm and mindfully, especially in the evening or during quiet moments.
Warnings & Considerations:
Lemon Balm: May not be suitable in high doses for those with
hypothyroidism — use moderate amounts.
Nettle: Diuretic effect in some people — stay hydrated.
Safe for long-term use and suitable for most adults. If pregnant, breastfeeding, or on medication, consult a qualified herbalist.
Storage: Keep your dry blend in an airtight jar, away from light, heat, and moisture.
