Feelings of stress, muscle aches, or trouble sleeping can put a damper on your day. What if I told you that a simple, homemade solution using a mineral your body craves could help?
Magnesium spray is sometimes called an 'oil' because it feels silky, but its just water and magnesium.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (50g) Magnesium chloride flakes
1/2 cup (120ml) Distilled water (or boiled and cooled water)
30 drops of Essential oil of your choice (optional)
Method:
Heat the distilled water until warm but not boiling.
Add magnesium flakes to a glass measuring jug or bowl.
Pour the warm water over the flakes and stir until fully dissolved.
Allow to cool completely.
Add your chosen essential oils and stir.
Transfer to a dark glass spray bottle (amber or cobalt is ideal)
To use:
Spray onto skin (legs, arms, stomach or soles of feet)
A slight tingling is normal at first, especially if your magnesium levels are low
If you have sensitive skin, dilute the mixture with a little more water or apply after moisturising.
Do not apply to broken, damaged or sore skin.
Storage:
Keep in a cool, dark place.
Lasts upto 6 months.
If you would like to make a batch of this spray up for children then only use a 1/4 cup (25g) of Magnesium flakes to 1/2 cup (120mls) of water. If using essential oils just add 1 or 2 drops of something gentle like Lavender or Chamomile or skip this step entirely if your child is under 2.
